State Championships: SIOUX FALLS & YANKTON

Registration deadline: 12 days before the tournament

March 10 - Sioux Falls: Boys Grades 7 & 8
April 7 - Yankton: Boys Grades 4, 6 & Girls Grades 5, 7, 9
April 8 - Yankton: Boys Grades 5, 9 & Girls Grades 4, 6, 8

All youth basketball teams in South Dakota in grades 4-9 are invited to play in the 2018 Pacesetter South Dakota Youth Basketball State Championships in Sioux Falls and Yankton.

All South Dakota teams can register for the State Championships in Sioux Falls & Yankton. Teams must be from the same school, school district or tribal community.

The champion, and possibly the runner-up, from South Dakota will be invited to play in the 8-team Pacesetter Great Five-State Championship at the newly renovated Target Center in Minneapolis against teams from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Over 1,000 teams will be participating from the five states.

Pacesetter is a strong advocate for supporting “Hometown Teams” by providing instructional camps, tournaments and newsmagazines supporting high school basketball. In 38 years, Pacesetter has provided over 2,000 camps and 2,000 tournaments and published over 200 newsmagazines.

“POST-SEASON” INVITATIONS

The top teams from the state tournament advance to the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN where they play in the Great Five-State Championships against the top teams from Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

All post-season tournaments are listed below with basic information. Further information, guidelines, etc. for each tournament will be provided in the invitation packets and posted later on this website after all state qualifying has been completed.

All teams will play three games in one or two days in an eight-team bracket.
4th grade girls - Friday, June 29th - Saturday, June 30th
4th grade boys - Saturday, July 14th - Sunday, July 15th
5th grade girls -Friday, July 13th - Saturday, July 14th
5th grade boys - Friday, June 29th - Saturday, June 30th
6th grade girls - Friday, June 29th
6th grade boys - Saturday, July 14th - Sunday, July 15th
7th grade girls - Friday, July 13th - Saturday, July 14th

The Target Center will again host the Great Five-State Championships as it has from 2010-2016. In 2017, The Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul hosted the Great Four-State Championships due to construction on the Target Center.
